~Q3 2020 Construction Activity Report~
Construction Information Services (CIS) is pleased to announce the launch of our Q3 2020 Construction Activity Report which you can directly download here. This complementary report compiled by our Research & Insights teams, details the levels of pipeline and active construction over the period covering Quarter 3 2020.
It is an important review in that it gives an insight into the recovery in the period immediately post Covid lockdown in March 2020 and in advance of further restrictions now being faced by both jurisdictions in Ireland.

Project Updates
€253m – Apartment Development
An Bord Pleanála have granted an appeal against a €253m – 1,102 unit apartment and mixed use development at the Old Naas Road, Dublin 12. As many as 992 of the apartments will be build-to-rent units and of these 203 will be shared accommodation for single occupancy bedrooms. The other 110 units will be for sale.
A pre planning application notice has been submitted for a mixed use development at the former St Mary’s Primary school and Convent in Newry, Co. Down. Plans detail the restoration of the chapel building to provide a community hub and the convent building is to be converted into 14 x social housing apartments. The former school building is to be demolished and 90 social/affordable housing units are proposed.
€10m Hotel Extension
Works are expected to commence in December 2020 on a €10m extension to a hotel (81 bedrooms) in Dublin 2 with works expected to take in the region of 16 months to complete.
€23m Warehouse Development
A planning application has been lodged with Waterford County Council for a €23m warehouse development in Ballygarron. The development includes the construction of 16no. single and twin bay warehouses for the maturation of whiskey, 2 no. storage warehouses (1 single and 1 twin bay) with a total gfa of c.26,148sqm.
