– Details of Referendum Subcommittee to be announced –
The Housing Commission will announce details of its new Referendum Subcommittee tomorrow, Tuesday, 1st March, at 9.30am.
The Programme for Government commits to holding a referendum on housing rights. The Housing Commission has been tasked with bringing forward proposals for the wording of such a referendum.
The details of the new Referendum Subcommittee will be announced tomorrow as part of a Housing Commission strategy session at Dublin Castle. The session will be attended by An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD, and the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, to be briefed by Housing Commission Chair, John O’Connor, on the new Referendum Subcommittee.
The membership of the subcommittee will be announced tomorrow, including Housing Commission members and external members with relevant expertise. Further details of the work of the subcommittee will also be announced.
